You know how I used to do favourites post every month, well, that kind of stopped didn’t it? If you’re not sure what I’m referring to, I’d recommend you check out my last post, everything is explained nicely there!
If you know me at all, you’d know that I like a good ol’ product and I like a good ol’ product review even more. Honestly, these kinds of posts are one of my favourite types to write, I just love sharing products I enjoy with people that I like on the Internet – it just gives me friendly vibes, y’know!
Anyway, I don’t want to start rambling again so without further ado, here are some products I’ve been loving recently:
My Recent Favourites
1. The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Range
Recently, for some reason, I’ve got super into skincare and as I (used to) do Body Shop At Home, I have tonnes of skincare products at hand. I found myself really liking all the products, however, my particular favourites are the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and the Vitamin E Moisture Cream – and I’ve used a Vitamin E Sheet Mask recently as well! After using these products, I find my skin to feel super smooth and healthy. I use the moisture cream almost every day and I like the subtle scent it has too! The plus side to the Vitamin E range is that it is suitable for all skin types which means that ANYONE can use it! Woo-hoo!!
2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch
If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am quite the avid Animal Crossing fan, having owned Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS), Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS), Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS), Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp (iOS & Android) and now Animal Crossing: New Horizons (NS)! I just love the vibes of the game, y’know – it’s so calming and wholesome, whilst being fun and enjoyable and even chaotic at times! I love the way that the series has grown as well, starting out on the Nintendo Gamecube as Animal Crossing: Population Growing with the admittedly quite scary graphics and then gradually allowing the player more freedom throughout the series to the point you have almost complete control over an entire island in the latest installment! I also like that you can’t really ‘win’ or ‘beat’ the game, so it takes quite a lot for it to become boring. It was released on the 20th of March, and I’ve already racked up over 135 hours of playtime which is pretty impressive in my opinion. I’ve just purchased three months of Nintendo Switch Online so if anyone would like to visit my island etc. please let me know and I’ll give you my friend code!
3. Adapt App
Before the coronavirus came along and totally flipped the lives of everyone in the UK upside down, I was happily managing my home, school and work life with a nifty little app called Adapt! Adapt is technically a revision timetable app, but oh boy, it can do so much more. It was officially released in early January, but as I’m an app ambassador for Adapt, I’ve been using and testing the beta version of the app for quite a while and it’s been amazing to watch it grow into the app it is now. To use Adapt, you simply put in your GCSE or A-Level subjects (and their examination boards) and your school timetable/commitments (if applicable, of course) and ta-dah, it helps you create and plan your revision schedule for all your subjects. You can even add your own to-do lists, and there’s information about life after school/college as well as current government announcements regarding grades and examinations. As implied, yes it’s only available for GCSE/A-Level and their IB/BTEC/Higher equivalents BUT Adapt are in the process of developing apps for US students (SAT/AP subjects I believe) and University students (which I’m particularly excited about!). Honestly, I would recommend this app to any student and I believe that it’s truly been developed with student’s best interests at heart!
4. Pilot G2 0.7 Gel Pens
I’m sure you all know by now that I’m a slight stationery addict, and I have a little bit of a thing for pens! Well, I found a new love – the Pilot G2 gel pen! I use inky gel pens (such as the Muji gel pens or the Zebra Sarasa) for writing up my ‘neat’ revision notes, and I saw several people on Instagram using and recommending the Pilot G2 so obviously I had to give them a go! I must say, I’m glad I listened to the recommendations as I do really like these pens, even though I still love the Zebra Sarasa and Muji pens! The G2 writes so seamlessly and smoothly and doesn’t leave big inky blobs, they last a fair while too which is always a plus! They have a nice chunky grip which makes them easy and comfortable to hold and write with for long periods of time, another excellent plus point! They’re slightly thicker than my other pens (0.7mm as opposed to 0.5mm), but I got on surprisingly well with them despite this!
5. Jellycat Octopus
Before I write this bit I’d like to confirm that yes I am a fully-fledged adult and no I don’t care what you think. I’ve got two Jellycat Octopuses, a smaller one and a bigger one, and I love them because they’re so soft and cuddly and when I’m feeling down they’re really a great comfort to me. I think that it’s good to have a cuddly friend, especially in these troubling times! The Jellycat brand is also a really well-liked and respected toy brand, they’re so durable and last forever!
6. Weighted Blanket
My mum recently bought me a weighted blanket as I struggle with anxiety and sleep, and I also have suspected ASD. It wasn’t a particularly expensive one, just one from Amazon, but I love it! I got a 9lb one I think, I’m not sure if it’s quite the right weight (it’s meant to be 10% of your body mass I believe) but I love it anyway. It’s surprisingly soothing and comforting and at times it feels just like a hug! I thought I’d share this, and the last item because they’ve really been helping me recently!
Well, I think that’s enough for the time being! These are just some of the things I’ve loved the last few months, there’s probably a lot more I could write about but I wouldn’t want to overwhelm you!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about some of my (current) favourite things, and I hope I’ve inspired you to think about some of the products that you love!
Thanks for reading
