It’s been a while since I have written a book review, or any kind of book related post really but today is your lucky day because I’m going to be reviewing Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon! Go me!
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon:
Let’s start with the design/cover of the book. I really like it, it’s relatively simplistic and appealing. The blurb is also quite simplistic but it’s ambiguous which (I guess) makes you want to pick up the book! Everything Everything is a book about a girl, named Maddy, who is allergic to the ‘world’ and hasn’t been outside in seventeen years (basically since she was very very young). But then this boy moves next door and they start talking over social media but Maddy wants to meet him in real life and she falls in love with them. Without (hopefully) giving too much away, Maddy essentially wants to risk her entire life for this boy, Olly.
So, what did I think of the story? I really liked it actually, it was very gripping and sad at times but *spoiler alert, kinda* I think it has one of those ‘feel good’ YA romance novel endings, which was nice! *OK, spoiler alert end* I read this book in about 2 1/2 days so it must have really been something to keep me THAT gripped. It was really enjoyble! I love how it’s not all just words, there’s little diagrams and notes written by Maddy and various others in the book and I felt that this made it much more visual and enjoyable to read. I also watched the film of Everything Everything and so soon I’m going to do a post where I compare the film and the book (ooooooooooo exciting!)
My Rating: 5 Stars
Would I recommend? Yes
Age Range of Book: Young Adult/Teen (13-21 ish, obviously slightly younger and older if they enjoy YA fiction)
