It’s been a looooooong time since I shared a recipe on my little internet space! To make up for it I’m sharing with you today one of my favourite seasonal recipes – Easter Nests. They’re so easy and simple to make and they’re also super tasty. They can also be adapted to suit people who have a ‘Free From’ diet (like me hehe)
- 200g or more Milk Chocolate (or dairy free milk chocolate)
- As many Cornflakes as you deem appropriate (Nestlè have a gluten free variety)
- a bag of Mini Eggs (or dairy free chocolate eggs)
- (Glass/Porcelain) Mixing bowl (Plastic Will Not Work!)
- Spoons (wooden and ordinary)
- Muffin/Baking tray
- Stove and Fridge
Gather all your ingredients and equipment.
Fill a medium pan 1/3 full with water and set to boil on a stove.
Break the bar(s) of chocolate into the mixing bowl and place it on top of the pan – ensuring that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water.
Use a spoon to constantly move the chocolate around as it heats up so it doesn’t burn to the bottom of the bowl. Continue until completely melted.
Add the cornflakes to the melted chocolate, a handful at a time, until no more cornflakes can be covered by the chocolate.
Place roughly two dessertspoons of the mixture to cupcake cases and then place a mini egg on the top. Continue until there is no more mixture.
Place in fridge for an hour or until chocolate has hardened.
I hope you like my very simple Easter recipe – if you use it don’t forget to snap a photo and tag me on instagram! (@jessblogs)
