Ho Ho Ho!
Happy Friday! It’s Blogmas Day Three and today I’m doing a Gingerbread Men Recipe! It’s quite simple so great to do with kids and also gingerbread men are so Christmassy, it’s perfect! Here you go:
GINGERBREAD MEN:
Ingredients:
- 350g Plain Flour, plus some for when you’re rolling it out
- 1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
- 2tsp Ground Ginger
- 1tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 125g Butter
- 175g Light Soft Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 4tbsp Golden Syrup
Method:
STEP ONE: Weigh and sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a bowl or food processor.
STEP TWO: Add the butter and mix together until it looks like breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar.
STEP THREE: Beat the egg and golden syrup together and add to the mixture and mix/pulse until it clumps together. Kneed it lightly on a surface until it’s smooth, wrap in cling film and place in the fridge for 15 minutes.
STEP FOUR: Whilst it’s in the fridge, preheat the oven to 180c/350f/Gas Mark 4. Line two (or more) baking trays with grease-proof paper.
STEP FIVE: Roll the dough out to about half a centimetre thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut the gingerbread men out and place onto a baking tray.
STEP SIX: Bake for 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden-brown.
STEP SEVEN: When cool, decorate and eat!
I hope you enjoyed this festive recipe!
See you tomorrow!
