Oh hey, it’s been a while! We’re very near the end of May, and I’ve only just published my April Favourites.
It’s exam season, you see, so everything else appears to grind to a halt! So far, I’ve had my 15 hour Photography Exam, my Biology transfer exam and my first Psychology paper! I’ve only got two exams to go now, both psychology, until I’m finished this year! I’ve got a bit of a gap before them though, hence why I’ve been able to write this!
Without further ado, I’d like to share with you a few things I loved in April:
April Favourites
e.l.f Poreless Primer
A new thing I bought in April was a primer! I’ve had primers before but I haven’t used them much. I’d heard good things about e.l.f and I was getting back into makeup again so I decided to buy some. I chose this one, out of e.l.f’s range, because my pores are probably a mess and I couldn’t resist the pink packaging!
It’s actually very good, especially for only £7.99 (although I got it for free as I had a voucher!). It makes my skin feel so soft and I only have to use the tiniest amount so I have a feeling it will last me a while. This one is not tinted but a few of them are slightly tinted for if you have problems with redness, for instance. Its bottle has a super handy air pump for ease of use, sometimes squeezing things out of a tube can be a bit of a hassle!
If you want to try this out, or any of the e.l.f range – it is available in Boots, Superdrug* and several other beauty sites/shops as well!
Oxford Campus Refill Pad**
Oxford very kindly messaged me on Instagram and asked if they could send me a few bits – of course I said they could! They sent me an Oxford Campus A4 Notebook, an Oxford Campus Refill pad and some ‘Spot’ Notes – all compatible with their app Scribzee, which is essentially a smartphone scanner app!
I’ve been using all these products a lot within my exam revision – but I’ve been using the refill pad quite a significant amount! It’s super handy to have great quality lined paper right there, ready to use – without having to worry that I’m ripping too many pages out of a notebook. The pages are super thick so you can write on both sides without worrying about it bleeding through! The Oxford Campus brand is one of my favourite stationery brands and I would gladly recommend them to any student!
If you’re interested in their products, you can get them in most places that sell stationery such as WHSmith, Ryman, large supermarkets and even Amazon!
Primark Beauty Brow Enhancing Serum
I’ve been wanting to try Glossier’s Boy Brow for a while now, but wasn’t really looking forward to forking out £14 on it. When I saw this in the Brighton Primark for only £2.50, I scooped it up straight away because I felt that it was practically an identical item but for a sheer fraction of the price. I’m usually wary about Primark makeup but I decided this wasn’t going to do me any harm!
It does exactly what I wanted Boy Brow to do – I essentially just wanted to brush out my eyebrows to make them appear a bit neater. I never needed to even think about losing £14 (plus delivery too!).
The serum itself is clear, which is all I wanted but I’m sure they come tinted as well – I know Glossier’s does but I was only looking at the clear one.
If you’re looking for new makeup – check your local Primark first!
Stojo Biggie Collapsable Cup
If you know me at all, you’ll know that I usually go to Costa on the way to college! I also just get one of their cups because I can just throw it away and not worry about carrying it around with me all day (waiting for the hate… I promise I like the environment!). When I saw Stojo though, I knew I had to get it!
I can’t take a normal travel cup to college because even when I’ve finished the drink there’s a huge risk of leakage. With Stojo though you can fold it down into itself (so it saves space too!) and you can seal it so it doesn’t leak. I thought it was perfect for students like myself and commuters!
The one I have is a ‘biggie’ but it’s not THAT big – it holds a standard medium sized drink from Costa nicely. You can get slightly smaller ones but I chose the biggie because firstly it was only 1p more, and secondly they come in much prettier colours!
The cups come with a plastic sleeve so you don’t burn yourself and a cute silicon straw too! Of course, you can use them again and again!
If you’re interested, I got mine from John Lewis*!
I hope you enjoyed my April Favourites – sorry again that it was very late!
