In 2017, I posted my GCSE Results Day Post and I decided that I would do the same again for my (first round of…) A Levels! As you can probably tell from my range of blog posts (see here: (College: Sept 2017, College Update 1, College Q&A, My Transfer Exam Results, College Update 2, Why I’m Doing My A Levels Over Three Years and others) my college experience, thus far, has been an unusual one. However unusual though, it still leads up to this very day – Results Day! This year I received my final results from A Level Psychology (AQA), A Level Photography (WJEC) and my Level Three Extended Project (AQA). This time in 2020 I will receive my Biology result, but I’m a year behind on that one! So what did I get in my 2019 A Levels?
My A Level Results
PSYCHOLOGY
Predicted: C
Final Grade: B
My Psychology A Level consisted of three examinations, totalling 90 marks each – this made up for 100% of the A Level grade. I mustered a B in A Level Psychology which exceeded my predicted grade but met my aspirational grade. Sometimes I think that I could have got an A but I can’t do much about it now, except a remark haha! Psychology is tough, content heavy subject, so a B is pretty decent actually!!
PHOTOGRAPHY
Predicted: B
Final Grade: B
I wasn’t surprised by my B in Photography, as I’d already received the grade for 60% of the A Level, which was a B. I didn’t know what I got in the 40% examined unit, but it doesn’t have much influence on the overall grade, even if it was an A. I don’t need Photography for my university course, but it’s good to have that strong grade there.
EPQ
Predicted: B
Final Grade: B
I’ve known my mark for EPQ for a while now, 35/50, and I suspected it was a B when I had a quick peek at the 2018 grade boundaries. The boundaries can barely shift for EPQ so they’re probably the same this year. Again I wasn’t surprised! I think that I could have improved my EPQ in some places but I don’t know whether it would have bumped it up at all or not…
So those are my results so far. I don’t know what I’m predicted for Biology yet, either a B or C. I got a C in the transfer so I want to try and get a B if possible!
Thanks for reading – good luck if you get/got results today!
Well done!!
Congrats Jess, amazing results! x
