(I wrote this post back in December and never got round to posting it, but here we are! The pictures are super old as well, fun!)
This year and this decade is coming to an end, so I thought I ought to take a step back and look at how many of the goals I’d set myself this year I have achieved. In June, I looked at my midyear progress and I still had a way to go with some goals but hopefully, now I have achieved many of them! Let’s have a look at my 2019 goals:
Reviewing my 2019 Goals
GOAL ONE: Improve Gymnastics
Back at my midyear goal review, things were looking hopeful. I’d gained a few new skills, however, I have since lost them! I’m on my way to getting them back. Something that has improved now, though, is my coaching ability as in September I officially became a coach which has boosted my confidence in working with children and young people! Skills wise, I could be better but all in all, I think that I did improve my gymnastics this year!
GOAL TWO: Get Good Grades In My A Levels
I wanted BBB in Psychology, Photography, and EPQ and what did I get? BBB! I’d definitely mark that goal as complete, now I’ve just got biology to go!
GOAL THREE: Pass My Biology Transfer Exam
I needed to get an E or above in my first year biology exam in order to continue to the second year and I got a C! I never thought that I’d actually get a decent grade in that exam but I did! GOAL ACHIEVED!
GOAL FOUR: Apply To Uni Again
I applied for uni again in early October and I’ve heard back from three unis, resulting in two conditional offers and one rejection. I’ve had offers from the University of Sussex and the University of Southampton, both for Biomedical Science. My rejection was from the University of Surrey for Biomedical Science because they said I was unlikely to meet their entry requirements. I’m still yet to hear from St George’s and Bristol, but I’d say that I’ve achieved this goal!
GOAL FIVE: Get Back Into Blogging
I think I’m starting to improve in this area, but I know I can do better so this is likely to become one of my 2020 goals!
GOAL SIX: Gain 100 YouTube Subs
I currently have 76 subscribers on JessStudies and 48 subscribers on Jess Does Gymnastics. I’m not far off so hopefully once I push a bit more content out, I’ll achieve this goal!
GOAL SEVEN: Save Money
Haha well… I have got some savings which my mum has got ahold of, but I haven’t done that much saving this year. I have invested in a good few things though such as a new iPad and Apple Pencil, which I love! From my next payday I have two main savings goals: firstly to preorder Animal Crossing on Switch, and secondly to save for some driving lessons (and because I’m awkward, yes I’m going to learn in an automatic and get an automatic license!).
GOAL EIGHT: Be Healthier!
Well, my gym membership is still standing strong and I’m still doing lots of gymnastics! I do eat a lot of rubbish though, I could probably improve there!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my goals for the past year, here’s to 2020!
Thanks for reading – did you achieve your 2019 goals?
