My 80 Day reward for the 100 Days Of Productivity was £10. I decided to put this £10 towards Glossier’s Balm Dotcom as I’d heard lots of great things about it and the brand itself from other bloggers! The balm itself cost £10 from glossier.com, and I was able to use someone’s code to get either 10 or 20% off (result!) and then I paid for the shipping as well, which is free if you spend over £25. I didn’t! I also got a free sample of the Milky Jelly Cleanser, that I’d also sparked an interest in but couldn’t afford. Here’s what I think:
Glossier Balm Dotcom in ‘Birthday’
Balm Dotcom is a Universal Skin Salve, or essentially a lip balm! I know what you’re thinking, ‘Birthday’ isn’t a flavour. That is true but the balm is meant to replicate the taste/scent of a vanilla birthday cake. And I gotta say, it smells SO GOOD! I don’t really know what I was expecting it to smell/taste like but it’s actually AMAZING and way better than I could’ve imagined. It’s a kind of sweet vanilla-y smell, I can’t really describe it. They remind me of the ‘Birthday Cake’ Oreos I had in America in terms of smell. That’s the closest smell I can relate it to. I’m honestly not just saying good things for the sake of it this balm is really fantastic!
It comes in a 15ml tube so you have to squirt a little onto your finger and rub it gently onto your lips. There’s a very subtle shimmer which I quite like and I think that it’s another representation of the ‘Birthday’ theme. It makes your lips feel so soft and it lasts for quite a while! You also don’t need a lot of it to put on your lips! The packaging in my opinion is a solid 10/10! It’s so pretty.
Overall I think this may have become my new favourite lip balm. I know I’ve raved A LOT about the EOS ones, and they’re still really good, but this one tops them all! £10 sounds a lot, but it’s worth every penny I think and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! I would definitely buy this again. You can also get other flavours. There’s Original which is fragrance-free and untinted, Rose which has a subtle pink tint, Red which has a red tint (duhh), Mint which is untinted but has a cooling mint ‘flavour’, Coconut which is also untinted with a coconut ‘flavour’ and Birthday which is untinted but has a shimmer. I went for the Birthday ‘flavour’ because I was most intrigued by it and it’s also the one I’ve heard most about.
MY RATING: 5/5 Stars (YASSSSSSSSS)
Milky Jelly Cleanser
Whilst I’m here I thought I’d do a ‘first impressions’ of the Milky Jelly Cleanser. It is a conditioning face wash so you have to put it on your face and then wash it off. Not like a moisturiser where you just put it on and rub it in. You can use it like a moisturiser though, and also to remove makeup. I had a pretty small sample so I can’t really say much. I tried it out though and my face felt soooooo soft afterwards! When I have enough money I think I’ll definitely be buying the ‘full’ version of it! It costs £15 from glossier.com and it comes in a 177ml bottle with a pump.
If you’re interested in any of these, you can get them from glossier.com . Click HERE to receive 10% off your first order. (DISCLAIMER: I will receive free store credit from this link).
