It’s the beginning of a new month, and you know what that means… Monthly Favourites! I finally get to share with you all the things that I have loved within the month of August! August was a strange month for me. I did my first work experience, I took a book out the library for the first time in years, I attended my first funeral, I went to London alone with my friend and I worked through a highly hefty to-do list but I still found the time to find a selection of products deemed suitable to be featured on my monthly favourites! Here they are, you know you want to read it!
1. Chilly’s Bottle
This month I bit the bullet and bought myself a brand new water bottle! I’d heard great things about the Chilly’s brand and I loved the idea of being able to keep my water cold! I browsed their website for a long time before finally purchasing my next favourite bottle – and it was probably the best thing I’ve done in ages! I opted for the pastel pink, 260 ml bottle! It’s small and simple and I love it! 260ml is quite small, the standard size being 500ml, but I like it because I can carry it in my bag with ease! It just means I have to top it up a bit more often! I use it all the time though – I have it on my desk when I’m studying, I take it to gymnastics with me, it never left my side when I was on work experience and when I go back to college, it’ll definitely be my trusty class companion! If you’re in the market for a new bottle, look here first! There’s a bit of a price tag but it’s worth it!
2. Stabilo Swing Cool Pastel Highlighters
I already owned the Stabilo Boss Pastel Highlighters – you know, the big fat ones! When I heard about these though, I just had to get them because they’re so much thinner and they fit in my pencil case so much better! I put off buying these for so long but one day when I went into town with my friend, Ellen, she bought some for me as I didn’t have my card on me (I’ve since paid her back – don’t worry!)! I’m so glad that I finally got some though because I now use them all the time and I will even more so once I return to college. The colours are so pretty too!
3. The Anatomy Colouring Book
This seems like a bit of a weird nerdy thing to put in my monthly favourites but honestly I think this book is great! It’s a fantastic way of combining learning and fun! Colouring can be quite therapeutic and, yes, using this book you’re learning at the same time! If you’re a Biomedical, Medical or Physiotherapy student, or looking into that field of study, I would definitely recommend this book!
4. My Academic Diary
In August, I purchased a new diary for college and I think that it’s great! It’s a Student Planner and Academic Diary, it runs from August 2018 to August 2019 and I bought it from Waterstones. It’s really useful I think and I think it would be super helpful for University students, which I believe it’s geared towards. It has space at the front for so much information such as interpreting term dates, exam dates, holiday dates and graduation dates as well as space to write down key university locations such as the address for your halls of residence, the campus bookshop, the student union etc. At the beginning of every month it has tips, a monthly planner (calendar) and space for a to do list. The diary itself is week-to-a-page and on each week day it gives you space to write the time and place of an event and a to do list! At the back it has space for planning. For instance, a checklist for uni, finance help, tips, study planners and more!
5. Imperial Leather Bubble Bath
If any of you know me at all, you’ll know that I love a good bubble bath! Over the last month or so, I’ve been using and enjoying the Imperial Leather Bubble Baths – more specifically the Marshmallow, Cosmic Unicorn and Mermazing ones! They smell super nice and they’re so bubbly! Will never beat a good ol’ Lush bath bomb but they come very close, for sure!
6. Air Wick Wax Melter and Yankee Candle Wax Melts
I decided to try something new this month – flame-less fragrance! Yes, I have a couple of candles but I worry about how safe they are sometimes so I thought that this would put me at ease! This way, I can still use a lush smelling Yankee Candle without having to fear for my life – yanno?! I got a great offer, the wax melter was on offer for only £5 in Robert Dyas and my mum bought me a wax melt from Yankee Candle for only about £2. The scent I chose was Peony! It’s such as nice floral smell and I love it, it makes my room smell so nice! I just have to remember to unplug it when I’m not using it and I can leave it unattended for a few minutes without having to worry!
7. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I’d never really tried a lip scrub before but when I saw, and tried, this one in Lush I just had to pick it up! It tastes amazing and it makes my lips feel so soft! It’s not one for moisturising, of course, but it’s pretty great for softening I believe! I mean, I love Lush anyway so I’m probably biased but this is actually real good!
I hope that you have enjoyed my latest monthly favourites! I always enjoy writing these posts so much! I go back to college very soon and I’m really quite excited because I haven’t been there in so long! Let’s just hope I get all my homework done before then!
Thank you for reading – what did you enjoy in August?
