Another lifestyle post today yay! We all know that life can be stressful, whether you’re at work or school or home! Especially as it’s near Christmas, people tend to get more stressed out! So I’ve put together a list of things that I think are good ways of dealing and easing stress. These tips might not work for everyone, they’re just ideas, but here you are:
NUMBER ONE: Have a bath
I don’t know about you, but I always find that if I’m stressed, or I’ve had a hard day, it’s nice to sit and relax in a nice warm bath. For extra relief, you can also use bubble baths or bath bombs! You’ll smell super nice too! Or if you like to you can light candles and make the atmosphere really nice and relieving!
NUMBER TWO: Write a list and plan EXACTLY what you’re going to do and when!
If you’re super stressed out because you have so much to do in, what seems like, so little time, I find that planning really helps you feel like you’ve got it together and in control. Say, for instance, you have 5 assignments, two due on tomorrow, one Tuesday and one Friday, write down exactly when you’re going to do each one. But don’t just write ‘Do Psych Assignment’, write what you need to do, for example ‘Write two pages of notes on (insert topic) for psych assignment’. Almost break up your tasks a bit and make them more manageable!
NUMBER THREE: Do the boring stuff first!
If you’re sitting there like ‘OK, I’m going to do something, I’m not that stressed. I’m in a position to work’, then to minimise stress I recommend doing the really boring things you reaallyyy don’t want to do first, because then they’re done and out the way and you don’t have to worry about it. Then you can move onto the slightly more appealing tasks. If you leave the boring stuff for ages, you’re only going to procrastinate and get more stressed!
NUMBER FOUR: Treat Yo’ Self!
Don’t take this one tooooo seriously because otherwise you may end up having money stresses because you keep buying things! But if you’ve had a really bad day, you’re really stressed and you need a bit of uplifting… Don’t be afraid to treat yourself to something small, even if it’s just a chocolate bar, or even a bath as I mentioned earlier! If you have the budget to go on an entire retail therapy shopping spree, then go ahead, but I’m not encouraging it!
NUMBER FIVE: Eat and Sleep Well…
According to some science stuff, we function better on a good nights sleep and good food because of hormone balance and body clock and some other things I have no idea about. Perhaps if you’re feeling extra stressed you need to think about whether you’re eating and sleeping properly as that might contribute to your stress!
